MakeUp Review: Maybelline baby lips electro line!

NEW Maybelline baby lips Electro line!

I'm super excited to be doing a review on these products. As soon as i saw maybelline post a picture of these on their Instagram, i knew i had to get them & do a review. I've tried them all out, so i am now able to do an honest review.

Basic information...
Price: Around $3.00 each but look for coupons!
Where they can be found: Pretty much any drugstore (if not sold out already!)
How many are there: 6 new flavors/shades
Other notes: Although this is a SUMMER collection, there is no SPF in these like the original ones.

Although these colors are a bit intimidating, they are sheer! Which means, if you use the green one, you will not look like shrek. You will get a nice flush of color. The thing i like the most about these, is the fact that these are buildable. I personally like taking "Oh! Orange!" and mixing it with "Pink punch" (from the original collection).

There's nothing else much to say but i LOVE these. Yes, it sucks that there's no SPF, but the original clear one has it, so just use both (which is what i do). I love these colors! Remember just wear them with confidence and don't let them wear you!! I highly highly recommend these for a tinited lip balm.

These get 5 stars from me!

Thank you so much. If you have any questions, comments, or requests let me know in the comment section or my Tumblr, and or my YouTube

Cute & Comfy #1

Cute & Comfy outfit #1!

I wanted to start off my series with one of my favorite outfits. I wear this outfit more in the spring because of the oversized sweater. To those of you who asked me to make an outfit and incorperate a white crop top... here you go. Hopefully this still meets your school dresscode for you highschool students. If not, don't worry... there will be a lot more that will be.

Top:
This outfit looks best with a loose crop top in my opinion, but it still looks good with a tight one. For a wide variety of options, printed crop tops look good with this also.

Price: $1.00
Where is it from: I found mine from the thrift store, and then cut it to the size i wanted it. It started off as a white plane scoop neck t-shirt.

Bottom:
Now you can replace these with any pants you want obviously. I also like plain shorts (no studs like these) with this outfit and colored high wasted shorts.

Price: $3.00
Where is it from: Thrift Store! These were normal straight leg high waisted jeans that i cut and destressed. I also added studs to the pocket of mine.

Sweater:

Now this is the main part of the outfit. On a colder spring day i love throwing on a oversized gray cardigan. You can find them in many lengths, textures, and fits.

Price: $6.00
Where is it from: Also thrifted. This sweater is orginally from Urban Outfitters

Shoes:
I personally love wearing my Doc Martins with this outfit. If you don't have/like them, any combat boot would look great. This is a perfect opportunity to make your favorite boot pop since you don't have long pants on! Also, because this outfit is so plain, you can wear a printed shoe/boot. I also like wearing floral Doc Martins.

Price: $120.00
Where are they from: Doc Martins website. You can find these in the mall at a Bakers shoe store, but mine didn't have this color in my size.

Accessories:
I think any pops of color/hardware you want to add to this outfit would look great! I personally like wearing Gold or rose gold. If i'm not wearing doc martins or a printed shoe, i'll wear a colored scarf or colored necklaces/earrings.
For bags, i love my go-to black studded bottom purse. I do use this for class occasionally, but if you wear this to school by all means wear your backpack or whatever tote bag you use.

Also with the accessories, wearing a scarf would be really cute, any color and any print would bring your outfit together.

Thank you all so much, if you have any requests feel free to let me know in the comment section, or on my Tumblr, and or my YouTube
Let me know if you want me to create an outfit with an item in your wardrobe! All you have to do is let me know what the piece is, and i'll create a look for you!

New Series!

Hello Beauties, i just wanted to make a quick post to let you know about something new that's going to be starting here on my blog!!

I always get asked by people in school and on the internet what are good school outfits that look cute but are comfy. Cute and Comfy is how i dress for school, and i'm putting together a series of outfits that i feel would be an inspiration to you guys!

So for every post i make, there will be an outfit & information about it, also some may have pictures of me wearing the outfits.

BUT.... i need your help.
Since you all are the ones asking for help, i figured it would be easier if you told me a piece you'd like me to incorperate in the outfits. For instance, if you wanted outfit ideas to wear including a white crop top, let me know & i'll give you my help.
Hopefully i explained that well,

You can leave your ideas in the comments or let me know on my YouTube/Tumblr (listed below)!

Thank you so much,
Lexi

BEST Drugstore & High-end BB Cream! Perfect for summer!

The best Drugstore & the best High-end BB creme!

Hello there beauties, So as you all know i'm on vacation and I've gotten questions on what makeup if any, do i wear to the beach. I'll discuss my full face makeup in a different post, but i wanted to share the BEST BB creams (in my opinion) that are in the drugstores and high-end makeup counters. So if you're a spender, or a saver like me this post will be perfect for you.

*Before i get into the actual products, i wanted to discuss what a BB cream actually is. BB stands for Beauty Balm. I know some people believe it to be the same as a foundation but with more moisturizer, and I've also heard people say it's the same thing as a tinted moisturizer. BB cream is acentually a tinted moisturizer but it actually helps your skin. A tinted moisturizer is pretty much a foundation and a moisturizer mixed together. A BB cream is made more for acne prone skin because you get the coverage, and it's helping your skin as you're wearing it. BB Creams claim to be a Primer, Moisturizer, Anti-Aging serum, foundation, and sun-block all in one!

So lets start off with my favorite Drugstore BB creme...

Garnier Instant perfection BB Creme
Garnier has made two different BB cremes, the original is "Normal to Dry Skin" and the new one is "Combination to Oily Skin". I use the Normal to dry skin in the winter/fall if i do choose to wear a BB cream, but in the summer which is when i wear it most i use the Combination to oily skin.
Price:
$10-$12 (Look for coupons, i always find them for Garnier!) Worth EVERY penny!!
Coverage:
Very Buildable without looking cakey. It can be built up to be about a full coverage foundation! Amazing!
Finish: Depending on which one you get the finish will change... Normal to Dry skin is a more matte, slightly duey finish, and Combination to Oily is more duey but not overpowering
Lasting Power:
With a primer it lasts all day, and without a primer it still lasts all day but it will slightly fade without a powder and depending on the enviroment you'll be in all day
Why i think it's the Best:
The coverage is REALLY buildable, without looking cakey. I also really love the duey finish they have to them, i find a lot of them just look way to duey but this one is perfect for me.
Other things to know:
-To me the smell is like sunscreen and perfume mixed together, it's not a bad smell or very strong but if you don't like smelly products i don't suggest this although it is a very light smell.
- The Normal to Dry Skin one is VERY moisturizing. I forgot to put on my daily moisturizer on under it and it was really moisturized still. So you don't need to worry about flakes, or dry skin patches.
-The Normal to Dry skin is rather Thin which means it will run. Without squeezing the bottle you'll probably have some run out if you turn it over. The Combination to Oily skin one is much much thicker which means you will need to put a little more effort into blending it.

Now for the high-end lovers...

Kiehl's Skin Tone correcting BB cream
Price:
$28-$37
Finish:
Natural Duey
Coverage:
Buildable to a full coverage, looks really natural even if you put more then one layer
Lasting power:
Lasts all day, even without a primer i find it still looks very good at the end of the day. I wanted to see how it would last without powder also and it looked good until i needed powder about 7 hours into the day.
Why i think it's the best:
It's hard to explain but something about this product is just AMAZING. I love how the minerals are so natural and leaves my skin feeling so silky and flawless. I love the moisture in this one also. Also, SPF 50!
Other comments:
-Only 3 shades!!!!! Kiehl's... you need to fix this! I hate buying two products to mix together to find the perfect fit for me, which also means it would need to be the same everyday and that's hard.
-Please note, if you're planning on taking pictures with this BB cream your face will appear lighter then the rest of your body due to the SPF.

Thank you guys so much, If you have any questions, requests, or comments feel free to leave them in the comment section or my Tumblr & YouTube

Stay Gorgeous,
Lex

Fashion Friday: Sunglasses/Eye glasses!

Fashion Friday!

So ladied and gents, it's SUMMER! When i think of summer i think of late nights, a lot of tanned skin, floral head pieces and my favorite... SUNGLASSES (or glasses)!

Now... in my opinion sunglasses/glasses can make or break an outfit. They can either pull to much attention, or not enough. What i mean by that is if you have an exciting outfit on that you feel confident in, wear a bland/plain pair of glasses. You wouldn't want to be wearing an amazing colorful outfit with patterns and have all the attention pulled up to your eye glasses. And vice versa, if you have an outfit on that's plain, and chill then wear a pair that is either a pop of pattern or a pop of color to complete your outfit. Now i'm not talking like bright red glasses with diamonds, i'm talking about subtle changes; (like shape and size and color). Little changes!!

So in this post i'll be showing you MY personal favorite sunglasses and eye glasses. (if you'd like a post on what sunglasses look best [in my opinion] on different shaped faces let me know!).. lets start off with the eye glasses.

 Skylar Readers
Style: half plasticframed, brown tortes with glossy lenses (also sold in Black half frams)
Price: $14.00 (i'm sure forever 21 has a similar pair but these are better quality)
Where can these be found: Urban Outfitters (click here to check them out)
Looks best with: Just about every outfit. I love wearing winged eyeliner with them because of the glossy lenses.
Why i like these: Like i said you can wear these with any outfit, and it can complete it. I personally love pairing these with simple make-up and a chill (leggings, cardigen, shirt, and a scarf, with boots) outfit.

Oversized Round Readers
Style: Round brown plastic frames all the way around (Also sold in Black frams)
Price: $16.00 (i'm sure Forever 21 has a similar pair for less, but these are a lot better quality)
Where they can be found: Also urban outfitters (click here to check them out)
Looks best with:Chill outfits, but i like to dress them up with a vintage outfit
Why i like these: They're oversized so they add a lot to a vintage look.

Now for the Sunglasses...

Style: Rose gold aviators
Price: $6.00
Where they can be found: Mine are from Amazon, which are no longer being sold :(
Looks best with: Everything, i love wearing these with dresses and fancier outfits
Why i like these: They're rose gold, what's not to love?!

Circle sunglasses
Style: Brown circle lenses
Price: $18.00
Where these can be found: Mine are from amazon as well, and are no longer being sold. :(
Looks best with: Vintage outfits! Like high waisted shorts and maxi skirts
Why i like these: Because i wear a lot of vintage clothing.
Note: these look really good for a muted look when you dont want a lot of attention going to your eyes, but yet you get an edge. So these are perfect for an exciting outfit.

Thank you so much <3

MakeUp Monday: ELF lip stain review

MakeUp Monday: ELF Lip Stain review

These are one of my top favorite lip stains high-end and drugstore!!! You can go to Sephora, or a makeup counter and get the same thing that you're getting in this tube. Now, let me tell you a little bit about this product.

I highly suggest this product for dates!!! Your color will last ALL day/night, you're not applying it after every bite of food you take, you can share a drink with your date and use the same straw because it wont be covered in lip stick and also, it will not come off if you kiss them (which my boyfriend really appreciates!!!!
Also, i love this product for school, you apply it once in the morning and you don't need to worry about it all day.

Why i like this product so much: The main reason why i fell in love with this product so much, is because it's matte! I LOVE matte lip products. If you don't like matte lip products, then you're in luck. This is a duo-ended stain/gloss. On the other side there's a clear mint infused gloss. So not only can you get a beautiful glossy finish, but you can also get a minty feel.
How much are these: $3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And the reason i'm so excited is because these products are AMAZING. I have a lot of elf products, but this is by far the best.
True to color: Very true to color. You can literally hold the tube up to your lips, and you'll get a perfect match. Now, i personally apply my foundation on my face, and then blend the extra over my lips.
Staying power: This will last you ALL day. I wore it all through my classes (the red one) and then ate lunch with it one. I completely forgot i had it on my lips while eating so i wasn't trying to be careful at all. I was eating my sandwich, and drank my drink care free. After words i looked in the mirror and remembered i had red lip stain on. It looked no different, but the corners of my mouth were a little splotchy. So i reapplied it in that area, and it looked the same as it did when i first put it on that morning.

How to get the BEST/PERFECT application!
Step One: Apply foundation (or concealer)  over your lips while applying it to your face.
Step Two: Moisturize your lips. (I suggest moisturizing before you start applying any make-up, and then do it again right before you apply this lip stain)
Step Three: Slowly start applying the lip color to your lips. (NOTE: you should probably wipe some off of the applicator and start with a little bit on the brush!) I like to use a small lip brush just to line my lips with the color. You can do it with the applicator given, just make sure there's not a lot on it.
Step Four: For glossy lips, apply the gloss end, or your favorite gloss that you feel complements that color best.
Throughout the day, your lips will feel slightly dry, all you need to do is DAB the chap stick/moisturizer onto your lips. (Don't drag it, just in case if it's a water based products it can be really oily and move the product)

You can find this product on ELF.com. (Click here to check them out on ELF.com)
Also, Select Targets carry ELF products (These are the only two places i know of, if you know of any other place let me know!)

THANK YOU SO MUCH <3

MakeUp Monday: MACs Temperature rising collection!

MAC TEMPERATURE RISING COLLECTION!

This review is going to go over the pricing, finishes, my opinions, of every single product. I was able to get my hands on this collection a few days after it came out, i've done nothing but play with all of the makeup since. So with that being said... Lets start of with the eyeshadow quads!

First i must say... The packaging for this whole collection  is SO Cute. It's all a silky-soft matte bronze/brown finish.

Bare My Soul- eyeshadow quad
All of these are a permanent shade! The price is $44.00

My first reaction (from just looking at it): At first, i thought i would love this palette. Seeing that it's made for summer, and would complement a tan very nicely.
Names of the colors: "Romantico" (Top left) "Bare my soul" (top right) "Friendly" (Bottom left) and last but not least "When in Rio" (bottom right)
Colors: Tuape with pink undertones
Yellow gold
Warm Chocolate Brown
and a dark earthy teal/green
Finishes: They are all shimmer
Price: $44 USD
How i feel about it now: After playing around with it, i found that i don't like any of the looks using all of the colors. I liked the shades alone, or pared with another eyeshadow, but i don't like any of these colors together. And i do feel that $44 is to much to not love something and be able to wear them together.

Temperature Rising-eyeshadow quad
Note: All of these shadows are limited edition, but Beautymarked is a permanent shade.

My First reaction (from just looking at it): I thought this palette would be PERFECT for the summer/ spring. I loved the peach/skintone color. I thought that would be my favorite shade out of all both quads.
Names of the colors: Performance Art (top left), Temperature Rising (top right), Swelter (bottom left), & Beautymarked (bottom right).
Colors: a pinky muave color, copper peach shade, medium purple with red undertones, and a black/brown purple color with copper shimmers
Finishes: Preformance Art- fine gold shimmer
Temperature Rising- frosted sheen
Swelter- light shimmer
BeautyMarked- micro-shimmers
Price: also $44 USD
How i feel about it now: I think the color combination is amazing together, and a well thought out concept. I think the colors could have had a more smooth finish to them. Overall i do love this quad. And out of both of them i highly suggest this one. The colors are great, my favorite being Temperature Rising which is the yellow/gold copper color.

 PowerChrome eye pencils
All of these are limited edition! But these do price for $21.00 USD
(in this section i'll be working from left to right, so the first review goes with the first pencil)

#1
Name: Temperature Rising
Finish: Frosty
Color: Light Champagne
My Opinion: I personally love this one. It's my favorite from the whole collection, and its perfect for any look.

#2
Name: Copper Strip
Finish: soft frost
Color: Warm coppery color
My Opinion: I think this one is good. I like to pare this pencil under Temperature Rising eyeshadow.

#3
Name: Lifes Luxury
Finish: Pearl
Color: Deep dark brown
My opinion:  I like this one, it's not my favorite though. It's a little to dark for my everyday liking but i do enjoy this.

#4
Name: Rich Glance
Finish: metallic sheen
Color: Dark gray, almost black
My Opinion: I like this color, i only like to use this for a smudged eyeliner or for a smokey eye.

On to the lippies...
All of these are limited edition! They price for $16.50 USD
Again my review is starting with the lipstick on the left and working my way to the right...
#1
Name: Altered Beige
Finish: cremey luster
Color: Warm Toned light pink, beige undertones, with shimmer
My Opinion: I like this color and the formula. Because it has yellow undertones, i think this looks great on darker skin tones.

#2
Name: Caliente
Finish: Crazy amounts of shimmer and glitter
Color: Warm Tone, deep red with burgandy shimmer
My Opinion: I personally don't like shimmer on my lips... i typically only wear Matte lipsticks, or creme finishes. This is literally a tube of glitter with color. It's a beautiful color (for all skin tones!!) but the formula is just not for me.

#3
Name: Sheer Seduction
Finish: Dazzle
Color: Warm orange copper bronzey brown
My Opinion: I like this one, it's a little to orange-toned for me. I enjoy using this color on my hispantic/darker skin toned clients. I just don't think it looks right on me, but i love this lipstick, it's very different... so if you're not a "Mainstream" follower, i highly suggest this color.

#4
Name: Feel My Pulse
Finish: a little shimmer
Color: magenta purple
My Opinions: This is my favorite lipstick from this whole collection, i feel like Nicki Manaj when i put this shade on. It's an intimidating color, but once you get used to seeing yourself in it, you'll wear it with confidence.

On to the lip glasses..
All of these are limited edition!! But these price for $16.50 USD
#1 is on the left working my way to #4 on the right.
#1
Name: Liquid Passion
Finish: Creme
Color: Peachy Nude
My opinion: This is my favorite lipglass from the whole collection. I never wear lip glass, or lip gloss. But i find myself reaching for this one a lot. I have Medium to Dark skin and i feel like this looks amazing with my skin color. This is a perfect universal shade for all skin colors. A must have for a makeup starting kit!!

#2
Name: Soft Senerade
Finish: Shimmer
Color: toned down light pink/beige
My Opinion: This would have to be my second favorite with this collection. I think it's very similar to "Liquid Passion" (#1) but this on is darker with more shimmer.

#3
Name: Rhythm
Finish: Small Shimmers
Color: purple, with hints of magenta
My Opinion:  I like this color more for my darker toned clients. I think it looks just Okay on lighter skin colors depending on the rest of your makeup. I don't think this looks good on me at all... and it could just be the fact that there's shimmer in it.

#4
Name: Undressed
Finish: thicker sparkles/shimmer
Color: deep copper/ with a plumy undertone to it.
My Opinion: This is probably my least favorite, only because it's not as universal of a shade, and there are some thick shimmers. I recommend this for darker toned people, but i do like this for a lighter tone over a plum lipstick!!

BLUSH!!
Both of these blushes are limited edition, and price for $23.00.
Left (#1) & Right (#2)
Name: Ripe for love
Finish: small shimmer/matte
Color: Mild toned peach
My opinions: Probably my favorite of the two. I love peach blushed on tanned skin!! This will be beautiful on everyones shade this summer!!!

Name: Hot nights
Finish: Frost
Color: mid toned berry/pink
My Opinion: Very pigmented!!!! This will also be beautiful on everyone! The lighter your skin, i suggest using a softer hand.

NAILS!
Both of these shades are limited edition. Both are $18.00 USD
Working left to right like always :)
Name: Scorching Haute
Finish: Shimmer/ Glitter
Color: Purple with magenta shimmers
My Opinions: I love this! Two coats should do. It's a pain in the butt to take off... but so are all glitter nail polishes.

Name: Tropical
Finish: Shimmer/Glitter
Color: Bronze
My Opinions: I love this color, this will make your hands appear tan!!!

Thank you all SO Much!
